Plan your plot in the outline

The Plot outline shows the whole plot book by book: acts, every chapter with your plan for it, and the threads that move in it.

  1. Open Writing desk in the menu. It opens on Plot outline.
  2. Choose the book in Showing at the top right, or All books.
  3. Under a chapter, click Add a plan and write what happens. Click Save. Scenes have Add a line too.
  4. Click Add an act, give it a name, choose the chapter it Starts at, then click Add act.
  5. Click Plan a chapter to add an empty chapter at the end of the book, and give it a plan.
  6. Move a planned chapter with Earlier or Later.

Good to know

  • Written chapters keep their numbers, so your citations stay right. Only chapters with no words yet can move.
  • The plan is the same one the Storyboard shows: change it in either place.
