Merge a suggestion into an entry you already have

When AI suggests a “new” character who is really one you have, merge it instead of approving it.

  1. Open the suggested new entry in the Canon Inbox (or find it on the first read page).
  2. Click Merge into….
  3. Find the entry it really is under Find an entry and choose it. Only entries of the same kind are offered.
  4. Click Merge into and the name.

Good to know

  • The suggested name becomes one of the entry’s other names, and its passages come with it.
  • If the studio spots a likely duplicate, it shows Possible duplicate with Merge into … and Keep both.
  • You can undo a merge.
